Hi Inik,
It appears that the database for WU on the computer is logically or
physically corrupt. Was there a recent power disruption on the computer?
Can you please email me the following info to help me diagnose the problem?
- a copy of %windir%\windowsupdate.log (%windir% typically maps to
c:\windows), and
- a compressed copy of everything in
%windir%\softwaredistribution\datastore after you log on as an administrator
and stop the Automatic Updates service by running "net stop wuauserv" in a
command prompt
- a copy of the recent and unique failure events from ESENT from the Event
Viewer
Once you did the above, while the Automatic Updates service is stopped, you
can rename away or delete the %windir%\softwaredistribution\database folder
(you have to be an administrator to do so). Then restart the service by
running in a command prompt "net start wuauserv". Note that this workaround
will remove the update installation history you have before.
Regards,
