This has worked for me!

I have had a look at a lot of other postings including the MS
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=836985 without any luck!
But deleting the "SoftwareDistrubution" has fixed the error "error
0x80072F78".

I backed up the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistrubution folder (Which only had two
files in it) and then deleted it. Went back to the v5 windows update site
and it enabled me to install the update.

I wonder if v5 site needs to be changed to fix this problem?

Thanks Ian,

Ben.

If you are having problems deleting the SoftwareDistrubution folder stop the
"Automatic Updates" service and then you should be able to delete the folder.

Ben.
