Error: SUS server version is 1.0, client selfupdate not possible

Our environment used to use SUS 1.0. I recently installed WSUS RC on a new server (Part of workgroup). I keep getting this error in the C:\Windows\Windowsupdate.log:

SUS server version is 1.0, client selfupdate not possible
WU client failed Searching for update with error 0x8024002b

Any idea?
