The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was ' '. Subject 'dd',
Account: 'pop-server.twcny.rr.com', Server: 'smtp-server.twcny.rr.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '501 5.5.2 RCPT TO syntax error', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 501, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

when i try to send myself a test this the error messae that i get. also i
have one friend that cannot send to me, he can reply but thats it..any help

You have included an illegal space at the end of the email address

The error message you've posted at the bottom here shows:
' ' Do you see that there is a space at the end of it,
inside that single quote? That means, whoever is addressing this email has
a space on the end of the address. They need to type this address in
without the space and correct it in their contacts list.

Yes, that's the space - and the error message is quoting what is input as
the address, so the space is in there somehow . . . . . just for "fun", try
typing it in as ".comx" - and then backspace, so it removes the "x" - that
should leave the cursor positioned right after the "m" in .com, and see if
it sends. I don't know how else the space is getting in there other than
you are somehow typing it and not realizing it, or maybe your keyboard is
possessed !! You could have a stuck key or something similar . . . . .

When you start typing that email address, does it auto-complete on its own?
You may want to delete the email address from your auto-complete list.

You can delete the entire auto-complete list:
http://www.winhelponline.com/article...dows-Mail.html

Or try this utility to selectively remove some unwanted addresses:
http://www.winhelponline.com/article...dows-Mail.html

The replacement mail program, Windows Live Mail, uses the standard
contacts list for auto-completion instead of the separate list used by WM.
You are encouraged to upgrade to the newer WLM program:
