Error Trying to use Microsoft Update

[Error number: 0x8024402C]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.


Any ideas what the problem could be?

When searching for available updates on the Update site, you receive the 0x8024402C error
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsu...cleid=30&ln=en

You may receive an error message when you search for available updates on the Windows Update Web
site or on the Microsoft Update Web site
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=883821

What causes Error 0x8024402c

Re-download the BITS updates (KB883357 and KB842773)
Rename/delete the SoftwareDistribution folder see the procedure described here:
http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...cleid=21&ln=en
By renaming/deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder you will lose your WU v5 History listing (not
important). If everything is working okay again you can delete the renamed SoftwareDistribution
folder.
