error window keeps popping up

the instruction at "0x53801d4f" referenced memory at "0x000000000". The
memory could not be read. This window keeps popping up and I can't get rid
of it.
Heading on window is MSVidCtl System Broadcast Message Receiver:
ehRecvr.exe- Application E.......

The same problem started for me on my Media Center Laptop. It also can not
find the tuner. It occured right after it locked-up while trying to do a MS
update. Tried turning off auto update and then did manual update, but the
problem still exists when the turner (ext) is plugged into the USB.
