You might have installed a shell extension (or a virus) that is not
compatible with the Windows Vista Explorer.
I don't know what tools are available to see all the extensions, but you can
remove them with Regedit.
The shell extensions for the desktop are located in
HKCR\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandl ers\
If you think you see the extension that causes this, delete it.
And please don't remove the "New" key.
