every time I install SP2 my system will not reboot.

I have been trying for the last 3 days and this is driving me up the wall.

We SP2 is installed the system asks for a restart when I say yes, it will
not rebot and will take me to the screen to start in normal mode, safe mode,
etc... no matter what I choose, it will not reboot, it goes into the same
loop. the only way I can do is use the restore disc and start from scratch.

Does anyone know what is happening...

Can you boot into Safe Mode and stay running?
If so, then you should turn off Automatic Reboot on failure in Control Panel
| System | Advanced ... Startup and Recovery.

ALso check EVENTVWR.MSC logs, if you can.

WHen you install SP2, what else is running on your system. Any AV apps,
Firewalls, ...?
