HP DeskJet 3845 attached to a Win2K Pro machine is being shared out to 3
other boxes (2 XP and a Vista Home Premium). All print jobs being sent from
the Vista machine come out flipped horizontally (readable if you hold the
page up to light with the back side facing you). This occurs regardless of
the application (i.e; test page via the printer properties dialog has same
result). According to HP site, Vista should already have the appropriate
driver for the 3845 and thus there is no driver available for download.
Output from the XP as well as the Win2K Pro look fine. Any ideas?

While this issue may not be common to HP printers, their response to
your support request is! HP has absolutely terrible after-sales support,
even more so wher Vista is concerned.

A mirror setting is usually used when you need to print to an
iron-transfer. Perhaps if you have a look at the advanced printer
properties, ther may be a setting that reads something in the lines of
"Mirror", "Flip" or even "Iron On Transfer". Such a setting could also
explain why even a Windows test page prints flipped.

Perhaps if you can provide screenshots of the printer dialog box, I
could assist in finding the right setting for you?

Hello!

First of all, sorry if guide will not will be fully precise (using
Hungarian MUI on Vista right now).

Looks like you have mirror view ticked in settings.

You can change it by the following.

Start->Control Panel->Printers->select HP Deskjet->Right
click->Properties->Special->Defaults->Design->Orientation (you see there
Landscape/Portrait and under it a checkbox Mirror View (or something
like that)) untick it and press apply.

It should print correctly after this.

Thanks for giving "learner" the details, Bistey. I haven't used HP
printers for more than 3 years now, and was unable to give that info.

"Learner" : I hope this info helps you.
