Hi,

Our company bought new laptops bundled with Windows Vista Business. We
have successfully installed Excel 97 but crashes occassionally especially
when we use macros. Has anyone came accross with the same problem? Any
solution yet?

Thanks in advance,
Garry

BTW: You should probably upgrade to a newer version of Office soon...

Many people have installed Office97 on Vista and are using it
successfully. I mainly use the MS-Word component of Office97 and the
macros and VBA stuff works fine. Simple spreadsheets seem ok but I
haven't run macros on them. Maybe you were having permissions
issues?

Hi,
I suppose you know that older SW has to be run in compatibility mode

No, not necessarily. Although some older software needs to be run in
compatibility mode, lots does *not*. Excel 97, as far as I know, does
not.

I run Office 97 Pro SR2 on my Vista machine with no issues. If your version
is not updated to SR2, you could have some problems with it.
