excel data

I have 300 names ordering different size t shirts. I want to add up all same
sizes to get a total of each. The tshirt sizes are in the one column.
small,med,large,xlarge and so on. How do you put a formular in and where to
get this to work please.

Or check the Help built into Excel, I'm sure the topic of tallying is
covered there.
