Excell Freezes

With the latest security updates in April 2006, certain commands freeze
excell and I have to end task through Task Manager.

With excell open,

if I try and open a file other than in My Documents it freezes. If I try and
Save As a worksheet into another folder other than My Documents, it freezes.
If I open a document in My documents, I can Save As back into My documents.
If I try to change the default folder under options, it freezes.

Without excell open,

if I open a folder, other than My Doucments, and click on an excell file, it
opens the worksheet in excell. I can edit the worksheet and resave but if I
try a Save As if freezes.

I've triey creating new folders and moving information into the new folders
but that doesn't work

These are some of the problems I've encountered with the latest updates.

I'm also having the same problem with EXCEL, since the last up-date.

after you install security update MS06-015

Easy Fix: Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll
down to Item No. 383 "Hewlett-Packard's Share-to-Web software - Fix (MS06-015)"
to download a registry fix.

Note: You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus program
in order to safely run the scripted fix.

Your problem is likely due to update 908531. Your problem with file operations is one big indicator.

I did this "easy fix" but no luck still the same problem. Any suggestions?
