Excellent signal strength but limited/no connectivity

HI everyone,

Got a new laptop (VISTA) and already have a wireless router (netgear) in the
house. We connected the laptop wirelessly with no problems yesterday and
this morning. Then, out of the blue, I get a "limited connectivity" message
even though the signal strength is excellent. Any ideas?

Our wireless network is the only one that's listed "connect automatically"
and we were connected to it yesterday and this morning with no problems.

Help!

UPDATE: I turned my wireless router off and on again and now it works fine.
Any ideas how to get this to stop happening?

Its a bug in Vista. I had it.
Windows 7 works fine.....

Therefore, shouldn't Microsoft publish a patch through their Windows Update
tool for a known bug anytime soon?

My integrated network card does the same thing as the original poster
(network detected but not working--local only). I'm running the most up to
date drivers and BIOS. The only way to solve this is to reboot the
computer--rebooting the network card by using the Diagnose tool doesn't
always solve this issue.

I know the feeling. I get that with my Linksys WRT54G2 sometimes. Only
difference is THE DESKTOP (Which is running Windows XP Home) tends to
lose connection as well.

Nevertheless, it's most frustrating.....

Hello,

I actually (knock on wood) believe I fixed my issue with that, I wen
through 3 routers by D-Link. The first 2 I had D-Link walk me throug
the set up, the 3rd router I did myself with no issues what so ever
Funny thing is I installed it according to the manual... I would rea
the manual on-line and see how it should be installed. It is installe
so the pc "sees" it as an access point right

What net-gear router are you running? Model number? I'll see if I ca
find the right documents to help you set t up :
