Hi All,

It is Vista Ultimates 64 bits.

What can casue such an error. The whole computer got frozen up and had to
shut down the computer. Then I rebooted and clicked on the System short

drivers via the MSConfig and ran a some chkdsk on the hard disks. For now it
is stable. I also have McAfee the coroporate version 8.5, and Spybot
installed on the computer. It worked fine for several weeks with the above.

Hi JoeP,

The error code (0xc0000005) usually is associate with a driver problem,
quite often sound. The file indicated, vfp6.exe, is associated with Visual
Studios. If you are using that, make sure it's a compatible version, don't
force an older one or try compatibility mode.

Was this a one shot ordeal, or has it ever repeated itself?

Hi Rick,

With the VFP6.EXE it was a one shot ordeal. It happened twice but at that
time I just called the System dialog and from some reason it got frozen as I
explained at the beginning of this thread.

I disabled many drivers via MSConfig and also used your suggestion of
compatibility mode.

Thanks,

Joe
