Ok, I know quite a few people have had issues getting activesync to work with
the Cingular 8125, this is driving me NUTS!!!
Here's what i've done:

Exchange 2003 SP2 (Small Biz 2003 Server w/ SP1)
No ISA
No CRM
Updated ROM on 8125 enabling AKU2

I have never been able to get the 8125 to sync. I keep getting 2 different
errors. The first of which I have narrowed down to a SSL issue (Error code:
0x80072f17) I disabled SSL and that error went away.

The error that's making me crazy is Error code: 0x80830003. I have set the
activesync properties on the VD to ignore certs. I have wiped the 8125 and
started over. I have loaded Exchange Mobile Admin and can't seem to make it
work right. Everytime I try to show a device it gives me error codes.

Prior to using the 8125 I used a Motorola MPX220 without any problems. As a
matter of fact, I am still using it on another account. I just can't seem to
get this blasted 8125 to work!!

HELP!!

TIA,

Eric

Hi,
From
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/acti...5_Error%20desc :

Problem description: The Exchange server is configured to require client
certificates.

Possible Solution: On the Exchange server, launch Internet Services Manager.
Right click on the Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync virtual directory and choose
Properties. Select the Directory Security tab. Click the Edit button in the
Secure Communications section and select the option to "Ignore client
certificates."

I appreciate the reply, however, I have already tried that. It did nothing.

Thanks,

Eric

Chris,

Ya, I've done that. I've even created new certs for the server and
installed them on the 8125. Nothing seems to be working.

Thanks again,

eric

I was having the same problem and eventually talked to the HTC Tech Support
and have the problem fixed.

On the 8125 goto Settings --> Connections --> Connections -->
MediaNet -->Set Up My Proxy Settings

then clear the checkbox next to the statement "This network uses a proxey
server to connect to the Internet."

Works for me.
