.exe default

So i messed up pretty good by accidentally setting all my ".exe" files to
open with internet explorer, now nothing open - how do i revert this error i
caused

try using Default Programs in control panel and select set associate a
file type or protocol with a specific program and delete the file
association for *.exe open with Internet Explorer.

protocol with a program » select desired file extension or protocol (note:
protocols are at the end of that long list.) » Change program… button »
select desired program » OK your way out
