.exe file in zipped program and vista wont allow me to unzip

I get the message "To help protect your computer, windows has blocked access
to this file"
I trust this file and really need to use the program. I just upgraded and
bought a new computer (my old OS was win 98 SE)

Anyone help me get windows to allow acces to this .exe?

If you right click on the exe file and choose Properties, do you see an
"Unblock" check box on the General tab?

No, it wont let me extract the file so I can't do anything with it. I can
see it in the .zip file but choosing to unblock is not an options under
properties.

Try right-clicking on the .zip file, choosing Properties, to Unblock (Apply,
OK), before extracting the .exe file.

WHEN YOU UNZIP A FILE DOES IT OPEN IT ? OR DOES IT PUT IT IN A FOLDER
SO YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT TO A CD? I DON'T WANT TO RUN ANYTHING ON THIS
COMPUTER UNLESS I KNOW IT WORKS.
