explorer.error - Application Error

whenever i click on controlpanel, i get this error

explorer.exe - Aplication Error
The instruction at "0x77abfb21" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The
memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

after this error i am not able to open windows explorer,
I don't want to reinstall W2k OS, Please give solution to this error

I'm having the same problem with explorer 6 and my control panel

Hi Nilesh! How did you solve this problem? I got the same now and I am very
desperate about it, Can anyone, plz help me?

You may care to post this to a newsgroup for your operating system as
it is unrelated to Windows Update. It is unlikely Nilesh will answer
you as he posted over two months ago and may have since posted to the
Win2K group when he did not receive a solution here.

Please supply full details when you repost in case your problem is not
identical in every way.

I am also having the same problem. I had no problems until I upgraded to SP2,
now all applications requiring explorer abort with the error messages in
these threads.

Any solutions????.
