explorer.exe bug?

I'm currently running Windows Vista, and every so often (it seems to be
randomly) all the windows start flashing, the taskbar moves around, and the
screen blinks. Everything is fixed when I restart explorer.exe, but this
problem keeps happening again and it's really annoying.

Click Start > All Programs > Maintenance > Problem Reports and Solutions >
View Problem History > check for logged error messages related to crash,
right click and it click View Details. Copy the contents here for further
analysis.

Have you updated your video card driver, since the flashing sounds like
something related to your graphics.

I noticed this on my old computer, happens randomly except when
attempting to start Catalyst Control Center. Haven't experienced this
with my Nvidia card though...

Yeah I have the exact same problem.. also running vista on an ace
aspire 3680. Randomly everything flashes and the only thing you can se
is what your mouse is clicked on when the screen re-appears on whateve
program i'm on. The explorer sometimes goes to the top of the scree
making it impossible to close any programs without running securit
options and starting task manager. (security options screen does no
flash so I doubt it is something to do with my video card.) Once
start task manager, it still flashes and makes it difficult to en
explorer.exe and sometimes itunes.exe too when I have this open. M
itunes is already set in administartive mode due to previous "pop-up
problems with vista and it sometimes does it without itunes even open.
I went into my history in problem and solutions and nothing is ther
related to a crash of any kind.. I was hopin for a patch or somethin
to install into vista to fix this but surprisingly im finding tha
there are few reported issues on this.
