right, so basically, whenever i shut down my pc now ( i actually click
shut down)
my pc wont load up next time i turn it on as it will say " resuming
windows"
i then have to turn it off to get it working again, then delete the
restoration data.
secondly, whenever i load up my documents, if i try to load it up again,
explorer.exe crashes and i have to restart the pc

My best advice would be for you to go take a course in written
English. Once you finish that, you can come back and repost something
we can actually understand.

When you say that you click "shut down"; do you mean that you click on the
icon that looks like a power button on the menu?
Or do you go to the end of that line in the menu and open up the list of
options; eg. Sleep, Restart, Shut Down. and select shutdown from there?

I'm working from memory here, as I don't have Vista running on this machine.

I seem to recall having to change the default behavior of the power button
from Sleep to Shutdown - my hardware didn't seem to support the sleep mode.
If I accidentally put it in sleep mode by clicking the power button, there
was no way of waking it again. I would have to do a forced shutdown with the
power button on the case, followed by two re-boots to get Windows working
properly again.

Hello *'*martyn470*' (http://www.vistax64.com/member.php?u=160353)*,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

I would suggest doing a full system scan with your virus scanner.

It would be best to do this in safe mode, to prevent any disruption
from another program.

My first though on reading martyn470's post was that he's accidentally
putting the computer in sleep mode - so, I agree with you.
