Explorer Folders Are Switching to Graphic Headings

In Windows Explorer, in folders under C:\ that are set in Views to
display Details -- instead of the column headings: Name | Date
Modified | Type | Size etc., Vista decides to treat the folder as a
photo gallery, showing as columns: Name | Date Taken | Tags | Size,
etc. with just the file names showing.

No rotation of Views shakes this. It may be caused by the presences of
a graphic file or two mixed in with other types, but that's no reason
to reclassify the whole folder as a photo gallery (and other folders
with a similar mixture are left alone).

Is there some step-by-step to get back to a "classic" format that puts
an end to this nuisance?

Thanks in advance, Steve

Steve:

I thought I was tubing out or what, so it was very nice to hear that SOMEONE
ELSE has seen this problem. To me it boarders on a catastrophe - messing
with the bubble machine when there is no need to or: if it ain't broke, don't
fix it. MS is desperately trying to get more into PHOTOS, I guess. So, a
temporary work around is to rename the parent folder - you will then see what
you want to see,
until Vista gets time to "think" about it.

Can it be that this is why my WVB search is so totally lame?

Hi Steve

To stop this from happening again and to allow Vista to remember ho
you set the folder views for the window when it was last closed, se
Method Two here

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70...w-settings.htm

This will show you how to change the C:\ drive area back to the defaul
"All Items" folder template. See the NOTE under step 1

Shawn, Brink:

Thank you ahead of time. Could you repost the links - I have tried all of
them
to no avail. I am using 32 bit WVB. Sniffing around, I still could not get
tone.
