Explorer Replacement?

Can someone recommend an Explorer type program that will display EVERYTHING
on the drive in normal mode, regardless of whether MS thinks I should see it
or not? Their attempts to protect me from myself are really infuriating at
times.

Thanx:

Such is a highly personal decision depending on intensively you use
your computer. I suggest you sample several.

Good starting point:

Yes,
It is called Windows Explorer and the best thing is
you already own it.,
Here is how,
In any open Explorer Window
Click Organize then select
Folder and search options.
Click on the view tab and
click on the
show hidden files and folders option under the
Hidden files and Folders section
also uncheck the
Hide extensions for known filetypes
and
uncheck
Hide protected operating system files.
But of course now beware that when you show the protected
operating system files you could delete them and cause problems
so, just don't delete them of course.

Thanx for the reply. Only one problem; I don't have a Hidden Files and
Folders section, nor an item to show hidden files and folders. Everything
else, I've already done.

Then something is either seriously wrong with your computer, or your
eyes.

Directory Opus. Not free, but brilliant.

Try Total Commander Ultima Prime. You will never look back.

Hey, I've been using Total Commander from before the days it was called
Windows Commander. It's really good for doing particular things, and I have
made custom button for visual ROBOCOPY and XXCOPY operations. It works very
well.

Never heard of Total Commander Ultima Prime until just now. Looks
interesting, but the screenshots show loads of extra button, which put me
off a bit. I have already made custom buttons that I need. What do you
find so good about this version, before I try it myself?

ss.

It looks a bit of a do-all swiss-army knife thing, which does not interest
me. What additions does it have to the core file manager? Can you install
it without all the addon apps?

Yeah the Ultima Prime version is a collection of TC plugins

If your not into the swiss army style you can go to the TC website an
select only the plugins you want

Really Ultima Prime adds nothing but a collection of these plugins
