I am using Vista Home Premium. When I scan an item into the computer, I put
it in my Pictures folder. I want to add "Date Acquired" to View Details and
have it apply to all files in my Pictures folder.

I can get into Choose Details under View for each folder, but I don't know
how to make it do it for all of the folders. I looked at Control Panel,
Folder Optionsbut can't find it.

Thanks CB

No - You just don't understand computers. Seeing as you've been working the
back room at Taco-Bell for the last two years, I would imagine that
computers are a stretch for your limited brain. Better check out a book at
the library regarding computers.

Better ask someone about Vista. You really should be using DOS. More your
style.

This worked here...

If UAC is enabled... otherwise, skip to step 3 and stop after step 12.

01. Turn UAC off, assuming it is enabled. (Control Panel | User Accounts
and Family Safety | User Accounts | Turn User Account Control on or off
| click OK in UAC dlg box | uncheck Use UAC to help protect your computer)
02. Reboot computer to effect UAC change.
03. Go to your pictures folder
04. Right click in the column headings (Where it says Name, Date Taken,
Tags, etc.)
05. Select More...
06. Scroll down and click check box next to Date Acquired
07. Click OK
08. Press Alt-T and release
09. Press O
10. Click View tab
11. Click Apply to folders button.
12. Click OK
13. Re-enable UAC, if so desired.
14. Boot box to effect UAC change.

Voila! (Well, like I said... worked here. Even after re-enabling UAC and
booting box I could create new folders that had Date Acquired columns
automagically...)

Regards,

Lang

There is a tutorial on how to make Vista remember folder settings.

That worked. I never noticed the Apply to Folders little box up there (Step
11)

Thanks, CB
