Explorer windows are not functioning correctly (Vista).

Hey everybody. Ever since today's Window's update (May 4th) my exploer
windows have not been closing. For example, when I try and delete something,
the recycling window (with the little bar) is always up as if it's taking
hours to delete, but when I open up my recycle bin, the file is there. So
I'll have 5 recycling and copying windows open, but everything is already
done. The only way I can get them to stop is if I go into the task manager
and physically end them. But then everything on my desktop goes away except
the background image and it all turns on again. This is getting really
annoying. Help please!!! Do I need to update again? Is there anything I
can do?
