export part of my storage folders

Hi:

With the old Outlook 2007, I would export a part of my pst (filter it) so
that I'd have my messages nicely backed up by month/year. These filtered
psts would be on an external hard drive and I could thus pull out any email
going back in time, depending on the month it was written.

With WLM, I see an option to Export messages but that appears to export the
whole message.store.

Is there a way to filter the export? This need not necessarily be monthwise;
it could even be folderwise...

Thanks Peter. That would do for now, until a better "date-wise" filter a-la
Outlook comes along.

If I may ask, why switch from 'old Outlook 2007' to WLM if the functionality
for filtering a pst is desired not to mention a quite a few other Office
2007 only additional features.

No choice. My new company doesn't wish to pay what it sees as exorbitant
per-user licence fees when adequate alternate options exist. So that leaves
long-time MS Office and Outlook users like me with a take-it-or-leave-it
choice As I am better-motivated in other ways at this company than to
crib about its software policies, I have moved back to OLE > WM > WLM.
