Hello,
As the topic denotes, is it possible to export all the emails,
accounts, rules, etc., from Outlook 2010 running on my Windows 7
computer, to Windows Live running on the same computer?
Essentially I want to eliminate Outlook (and MS Office all together)
and use Windows Live as my email client.
Unfortunately I have a ton of stuff in Outlook (I do NOT use Outlook's
calendar features however) that I need to have imported into Windows
Live email.
Can this be done?
Thank you for any help you can offer.
Regards,
AJ

No...Outlook does not have an export to WLM option, nor does WLM have an
import from OL option.

Obtain a Hotmail account.
Install the Hotmail Connector in Outlook(open Outlook to complete the
install, then close Outlook to finalize the profile setup[required])
Open Outlook, Setup the Hotmail account in the Hotmail Connector in Outlook
Create the necessary folders in the Hotmail account to hold the Outlook
messages
- Nested folders are available in Hotmail
Copy the messages(not move) from Outlook to the Hotmail account in OL
Sync the Hotmail Connector to upload the messages to the Hotmail server
Close OL

Open WLM
Setup the Hotmail account in WLM using the http protocol(do not use pop3)
Perform a Send and Receive to sync WLM and download all messages from the
Hotmail server to the local WLM client(if the number of messages is large,
do not interrupt the process)
Verify all messages are present.

One can copy/move(copy is highly recommended) the messages to another
account's folders, user created folders in Storage folders etc..

When satisfied..you can delete the messages in the Hotmail account or keep
it as backup/archive and/or if desired remove the Hotmail account from WLM.
To remove the Hotmail Connector from Outlook, first remove the account in
Outlook, then uninstall the Hotmail Connector via Control
Panel/Programs-Features(or XP's Add-Remove).
- do not uninstall the Connector without first removing the Hotmail
email account in Outlook...doing so may damage the Outlook 10 pst file,
corrupting the profile and requiring complete removal of Office.

Good luck!

Wow. Too much work there!
I've moved to Thunderbird - full Import option.
Thanks for your help.
Regards.
