It runs for about 30 minutes and ends with page not available error
0x8DDD0009. I have followed all the steps suggested by TaurArian for this
problem without success.
The background is that this is an aged ThinkPad A20m onto which someone had
installed XP Pro SP2 (128 GB RAM - what were they thinking?) and then they
gave it away to a friend of mine who is terminally ill. He has asked me to
get it working for him as soon as I can and I want to be sure that Windows
can be updated before he spends his money on more memory.
A mystery to me is that Update History at Microsoft's site shows only WGA
KB892130 which came automatically but Add or Remove Programs lists 21 recent
updates.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated as I think time is getting short for
my friend.
