extender not found when trying to add xbox 360

I get a message "extender not found" when trying to add my 360. I have
verified the set up key, and disabled my firewalls. My computer is on a
wireless card to my Verizon Fios modem/router and so is my 360, witch can by
the way connect to xbox live. Any help would be great

Thanks for the prompt response, it was my wireless network card, guess it may
not be vista compatible.
