External hard drive does not work

I have Vista but it will not recognize my external hard drive. Asks for a
driver. Yet with my wifes laptop that also runs on Vista, it works like a
charm! Also worked on previous XP machine. What can I do short of buying
another enclosure?

How does it connect? If it's USB, Vista may have problems from it.

The Mail newsgroup doesn't deal with that.
Try the newsgroup microsoft.public.windows.vista.general.
