Just got myself a Fujitsu Storagebird Solo 35-UB 1Tb HD but Windows Vista
says unrecognized USB device. It works fine with another XP PC.
Siemen-Fujitsu's really helpful advice is to reinstall Vista which would
take me a whole day to get this PC which I earn my living on back up and
running.

Anyone got any other (less drastic) suggestions?

I'm surprised it doesn't work. According to the datasheet from Fujitsu
(http://sp.fujitsu-siemens.com/dmsp/d...solo_35-ub.pdf) it
should be "Plug 'n' Play" for Vista and for XP.

It doesn't work presumably due to some problem with my PC (see thread on
sync center stops working despite microsoft fix), I just wondered if there
was a way of fixing the PC other than a reinstall of Vista, but it's now
looking (according to zach) as though that's the only option to get sync
centre working properly and Windows Media Player as well.
