Extra disk in Defragmenter, Vista HP.

I opened Select Volumes in Defragmenter as I only want it to run on my C:
drive and I found an extra "disk" listed.

I have, from the top,

(Select all disks)
Vista (C
Removable Disc (D

and then this, \\?\volume{bd14d1e-25b2-11dc-bf36-806e6f6e6963}\

Can anyone tell me why I have this entry and what it means? Also, if it is a
"disk" where can I find it and see what it contains?

Thanks.

vista is an intelligent next generation OS...

it was made by tree swinging monkeys stolen by a Bill Gates expedition to
Africa.

Pretty funny. They must have made it with your relatives. You must be the
bottom feeder monkey. Walking on your knuckles and eating bananas.

You are a candidate for Ubuntu. It is just your style. Now go look up
Alias and he can help you get started. You will need lots of tutoring.

Just FYI

Andy, "Removable Disc (D" refers to other storage hardware, like any
USB flash drives, card readers, etc., that are attached to your computer.
You can go to "computer" and there you should see all the attached
storage hardware., C drive, CD/DVD, A drive (floppy) and any other
attached drives, flash, card reader etc.
Just click on the "D" drive and it will open. If there is anything
stored in it you should see it.
HTH,
Frank

Hi Frank,

Thanks for replying. It's not the D: drive that's causing me concern it's
the drive labeled as,

\\?\volume{bd14d1e-25b2-11dc-bf36-806e6f6e6963}\

This "disk" is only listed in Defrag' and I just wondered if it should be
there and if so where I might find it.

Thanks.

Andy, can't say for sure, since I'm on my work system and can't check my
theory, but I'm thinking it's the recovery partition. I believe (but can't
remember) that the recovery partition on my HP is labled the same way as your
"mystery" disk.

Regards,

As long as there is nothing to worry about.
