I recently installed Vista Home Premium on my computer. I have no
problem with start up but am experiencing a 3 to 5 minute delay when
shutting down. Is there anyway to check in order to determine what is
causing my shutdown to "hang"? Thanks for any help that you can offer.

Try Event Viewer and see what's listed there. That might give you a clue to
what is happening during logoff and shutdown.
