A US federal court has ordered Microsoft to pay over $290m (£175m) for
wilfully infringing on a patent by Canadian firm i4i........

Microsoft Word's $290m patent row
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8197990.stm

I don't know how anyone could possibly have a patent on xml, which seems so
similar to other technologies like html, but there ya go.

The court also ordered MS to stop selling Word in the US. Course, MS is
appealing.

So why do you hang out in the Vista forum if you hate Microsoft?
Shouldn't you be in the Ubuntu forum helping those sorry sacks who
believe they have a decent OS when in reality they have ****?

Oops, you don't know anything about Ubuntu. That's why you troll here.
