Fail download

I work at a school, when a computer is part of the domain it has no trouble
downloading windows updates, with or with out sp2.

Problem: when a XP computer is not on the domain and does not have sp2 it
will find and download updates. But when sp2 is installed the computer is
still able to find other updates, but when trying to download it fails. Have
tryed home and Pro edition with the same affect. There is no error code
given, the brower says unable to update. Please help.

You should find an error number in the WindowsUpdate.log file.

I am having the same problem, there is no number in the Windowsupdate.log
file, the systems shouws that it has searched for and found the updates and
codes and incidence, but there is not an error code applied to it.

I would like to help. It appears that you had some other
updates that were unable to be updated or perhaps
installed. Can you post back here:

1) Which updates? example: KB123456
2. Each update has its own log file in the %windir%
directory. Could you open the logs for the files that did
not install, and display the last few relevant lines of
each file?
