I have a similar problem. My Windows XP crashed two days ago, and I had to
reinstall Windows (Repair Option) and as soon as I was back running, I tried
to download vital updates. I just could not download anything.
I installed Genuine Advantage Validation Tool but that does not solve the
problem either. I saw another post (different forum) where they suggested
manual installation at C:/Windows/Software Distribution/Downloads/Install but
it seems an impossible dream for me as there more than 200 items in the
folder. I just cannot install them one by one. They might be dependencies
I'm unaware of.
What could be a better solution?
