Fail to update Windows XP Service Pack 2

I have reintalled Windows XP Home Edition including Service pack 1.
When I click Windows update button to update Windows XP Service Pack 2,
it always stop on below steps:

Updating Your System

Finishing installation

Details
Running processes after install
--------------------------------------
Please let me know how I will do to complete the update.
I have tried a few times, but my computer alwasy stopped above step.

Download the full SP2 file.
Try to install it.

How have you reinstalled Windows XP Home? If you are reinstalling over the
top of an existing Windows XP Home that used to have SP2, and you are not
starting from scratch (format drive and then install Windows XP Home), then
there is probably information still in the registry indicating that SP2 has
been installed.
