*Ass*uming can be dangerous. Best to check the Security Bulletins of
said updates to ensure that the files of the updates are indeed
installed on the system.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.aspx
Click the " Search By KB Article Number " tab and then enter the
relevant KB number that is showing as installed.
Look under the General Information, Security Update Information
subheading for the specific update for your system.
Then scroll down to the File Information section and compare the
versions of the files of the update to the ones present on the system.
Right click the files on the system, choose Properties, click the
Version tab to compare.
If WU doesn't show successful updates that failed previously, then it's
possible that the Software Distribution folder has been either renamed,
deleted, or has been cleared of all content. This would prevent WU from
showing the History of subsequent successfull installations of the
updates that showed as Failed in the past.
