Failed Critical & Security Updates (KB873339 & K886185)

Had to format HD and reinstalled XP Home. Ran all update up through SP-2
without a problem. The computer froze while downloading the last updates and
I can not install Critical Update KB886185 or Security Update KB873339. Had
tried doing it many, many times without success. Any help would really be
appreciated.

you can download the Security update KB873339 from this link as a separate
file and then install it on your computer

P.S. can you tell me I'm facing problems with Installing SP2, it starts
verifying the download and then gives the message that the download failed.

Sabih,
Thank you for the link to the Security update, I also found the Critical
update there as well. As for SP2, I've downloaded it on several computers
and never had a problem. Sorry but I can't offer any assistance.

Hi Sabih,

Having the same issue, I was really interested by your solution. I
downloaded the file, launched the execution, but I did get an error message
because my Windows XP is not in english as base line language.

Do you have any idea where I can find the same file compatible with other
languages but english ?
