I failed the genuine microsoft test but i'm legit

On the update site I was prompted to test for a valid copy, though i've just
formatted my computer + failed to realise that I hadn't activated it. I went
to update and now it won't stop telling me it's invalid, even though I have
successfully activated windows via telephone.

Can anyone help?

Please download and install:

Then re-boot Windows. Does this resolve the issue?

If not, then:

Please follow this simple troubleshooting procedure:

1. Download and install the MGA Diagnostic Tool:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012


2. After running the MGA Diagnostic Tool, click
on the "Windows" tab and then click on "Copy to Clipboard".

3. Next, visit the following website and create a post in the
"WGA Validation Problems" forum and paste the
results of the WGA Diagnostic Data in a detailed post.

4. A WGA troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and
recommend an appropriate solution.

Call Microsoft and ream them out and then demand a refund.

Dave, I had the same problem. Found a MS number to call. They gave me
http://microsoft.com/genuine/diag. This worked for me on the first try. MS
also gave me http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Linkid=52029 to try if first one
didn't work. Phil
