'Failed' Icon Fails

When reviewing your update history, there is a recommendation stating that
"if an update failed to install, click the Failed icon to learn how to solve
the problem." The icon is a red "X" followed by a yellow question mark (?).
When you go ahead and click on it, however, absolutely NOTHING happens. The
url appears to take you to the very page you are already on!
As I've not had a failure here until the .NET framework 2.0 reared its ugly
head, I have not seen this unfortunate behavior until now.
Did it ever work? Why wouldn't this be the first thing the update history
page wants to do since that is why it exists? Why am I spending all this time
here when I could be doing something important?? All these questions are
going unanwered late into the night ...

Probably a symptom that a popup blocker is active and blocking inappropriately.
A possible workaround in that case could be to click on the link
while holding a Ctrl- key down.

Uh no, popups were not blocked on this site, Bob. Thanks for the interesting
possibility though!
