My computer is evidently attempting to install an update every night when I
shut it down. The attempts fail. The update is for SQL 2005 Express Edition
Service Pack 3 (KB955706). The log shows error code is 0x64C. How can I
solve this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Note: To upgrade SQL Server 2005 Express Edition, obtain the SP3 version of
Express Edition or Express Edition with Advanced Services.
See: http://www.microsoft.com/express/sql...s/default.aspx

Download the full SQL 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 3 for your version
and install that.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went throught the process you suggested,
installing Net Framework first as required by the link you mentioned.
However, when I attempted to install the SQL file I got an error message.
The log file for that follows-

What i particularly noted :

"The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the
source exists and that you can access it."

Apparently it can't find the original installation files. Perhaps reinstall
the SQL 2005 original file and then try the update.

I believe the instance of SQL was installed be ACT by Sage 2007 Version 9.0.
It appears to be the only program that uses it. I have tried a
reinstallation of ACT, but that didn't help. I left the CD in the drive, no
luck either. Running services.msc shows that SQL is relateded to ACT.
Truthfully, I've found the program unreliable and am switching to Office 2007
and Outlook with BDM to replace it. Hope it doesn't use SQL 2005! Thanks
for the input!
