Failed to Install Updates

My computer crashed 2 days ago, so I reinstalled Windows (Repair Option only)
to reinstall just the vital components and not lose my data (as my HD was not
partitioned).

I immediately tried to install updates. Automatic updates detected 83
criticial updates needed to be installed but everytime I try, everything
fails to install.

I reinstalled the Genuine Advantage Validation Tool but it doesn't help.
Any update cannot be installed, even updates for Windows Defender.

What do I need to do? Please help.

Dino G.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

I read that earlier today. But it has nothing to do with my case, at least.
I have not repaired Windows XP.

Have you tried what PA Bear suggested? If not try it, if it doesn't work, then post back
with the relevant part of your windows update log.
Thank you.
