Downloaded all the SP2 updates at once (29 ea). Not a single one would
install correctly, every single one failed. Looks like I am not the only one.

Problem is, now I cannot get these downloaded update files off of my
computer so that I can try another strategy like downloading 1 at a time.
Update keeps using the ones that are already downloaded. Anybody know where
to go and what files to wipe out to get downloaded, but not installed, update
files off the computer so that you can try a fresh download?

Microsoft engineers should congradulate themselves again for foisting a
bug-ridden update / software package on the world's poplulace. If all the
time that was spent trying to rectify Microsoft created problems was put to
good use, probably we would have reached the stars already.

Seems that your system was due many updates. The thing is to NOT get too many in any one session.
Further, you have to dig a little to determine the failure or the likely cause.

Search your system's HD (on all volumes) for folder named WUTEMP. Remove all files from there.
You may have to tweak Win Explorer's View options to show you hidden files.

Is this the same SP2 we are all awaiting with bated breath or a Beta
version?
