Failed .NET Framework 2.0 update Plse help

Hi, Update gives me an error code 0643 when trying to install the downloaded
NET framework 2.0 update. Have checked the permissions in NET 1.1 to 'fully
trusted' but same error. Have downloaded the update separately and tried to
install but then get " Microsoft.VisualBasic.VSA.dll error : access denied".
Any clues much appreciated.
