failed .Net Framework install

I was notified of an update for Windows XP Home, .NET FRAMEWORK, and tried to
install it. It initialized and started to install but hung up. During
installation no progress was noted after many minutes so I decided to cancel.
The install program said I needed to reboot. When I did I got the “Windows
didn’t shut down properly message. Then after retrying all options I got a
BLUE SCREEN with the message: “MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION and STOP: 0x0000009C
( 0x00000000, 0x805545F0, 0xA2000000, 0x8C010400).


This is my business computer I need a fix soon! I can't boot it up.

This is a hardware issue: an unrecoverable hardware error has occurred. The
parameters have different meanings depending on what type of CPU you have
but, while diagnostic, rarely lead to a clear solution. Most commonly it
results from overheating, from failed hardware (RAM, CPU, hardware bus,
power supply, etc.), or from pushing hardware beyond its capabilities (e.g.,
overclocking a CPU).
