Windows Xp Pro Sp2
I've got unknown virus does damage %SystemRoot%\system32\config\system file
and some services. Ok I almost recover everything without DHCP Client
services and have this error:
-------
The DHCP Client service depends on the SYMTDI service which failed to start
because of the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
---- no more

Perform a "Clean Install". The virus has irreversibly comprised
your system.

Clean Install Windows XP

After performing a "Clean Install", consider purchasing and
installing a first-rate Internet Security program to help protect
your system from garbage internet web sites:

Norton Internet Security 2005

What makes you think this is a virus? What antivirus software are you
running, and is it updated? What is the name of the virus?

Is all your data backed up?

Note - you should post this in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general and/or
microsoft.public.security.virus. This group is for Windows Update issues.

I wouldn't assume it was a virus - why would you think it is?
Can you boot into safe mode?
Is this an OEM WinXP? Do you have your installation media on CD?

What I did was :
1. Start Recovery Console and change windows\system32\config\system with
system_BAC_4095
2. Boot the system and windows start to works but no IP
3. Start programs - all Microsoft programs run only for 5 sec. and
disappears no System Alert no System EventID nothing.
4. Uninstall Sp2 and Sp1
5. Reinstall Xp over from boot CD
6. Then install SP2
7. The programs run OK but DHCP Client services doesn't.... No IP from my ISP
