For the last 2 weeks repeated attempts to install the above update are
unsucessful.

Windows is till prompting to install.

Installation - failed.

Error message 00000646

I experienced this too, do you guys have Windows 7 64-Bit installed, as this
is what Office 2007 doesn't seem to be compatible with for this update?

This problem can't have anything to do with Office 2007 or the 64 bit version
of windows. I have the 32 bit version and Office 2010 Beta and I have the
same msg. "00000646". ??????????????

correct this
