Last five update for vista will not install. Worked with Dell for hours to no
avail. Nothing on MS website about this problem. Anyone have a clue?

Can you attach a copy of your WindowsUpdate.log file found in %windir%?

See if this MSKB applies to the issue even if the system was not
upgraded to Vista :
