failed updates in sbs 2000 sp4

Ever since updating Critical Update for ADODB.stream (KB870669) and Microsoft
GDI+ Detection Tool (KB873374) succesfully Wednesday, October 06, 2004, I
have failed in all subsequent installation of windows critical patches and
updates on SBS 2000 at the administrator level. I have checked policy
settings, etc. and seem to be fine.

I cannot install the following:

Yes I do. Please retry to install just ONE patch. Then, when it fails,
send us the relevant error from the windows update log. Here is that
procedure:

On Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003:
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. type: "%WINDIR%\Windows Update.log" (Notice the space between Windows
and Update)
4. Click OK
5. Next, when the log has opened, scroll all the way to the bottom.
6. Look for an error code, such as 0x8000FFFF or 0xFFFFFB40.
7. Copy the whole line this error is on, and perhaps several around it, so
that we may understand the error.
8. Paste it into the reply to this thread in the newsgroup.
9. Also tell us what update you were installing.

I think the error stems from the GDI+ Dection Tool (KB873374): After I
installed that application I have been unable to perform any updates from the
Winows update website!

I have tried to de-install this app, but have found no procedure. Can you
