Failed Windows/Windows Family Updates

Don't use my laptop much now that I'm not traveling, but try to keep at least
quarterly updates happening. I'm running Windows 2000 5.00.2195 w/SP 4 and I
just realized that the last couple of sets of updates failed.

The last successful update was Update for Background Intelligent Transfer
Service (BITS) 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773) back in July of this year.
When I try to open any of the failed icon symbols, I get nothing.

Anyone have the same experience, or have any suggestions as to how to get
the updates to install?

Others have found that a popup blocker apparently can interfere with that feature.
